Summary

Haddish had a variety of suitors throughout her life. She dated policemen, drug dealers, scam artists and lawyers, all in a search for a man who could handle her big personality as well as her difficult past. One of her best boyfriends was a 60-year-old lawyer who took her to nice places and taught her a lot. Despite having two grown kids of his own, he wanted kids with Haddish as well. She was not interested, however, in having to "change [his] diaper and the baby's diaper" (152). Her comedy career also made it hard for her to find love. A joke she told onstage about her sexual experience with Roscoe, for example, made one of her ex-boyfriends furious. Whenever the couple would fight, he would bring up her past with Roscoe, and accuse her of having a fetish for handicapped men.
