Summary

Chapter Fourteen

Gregory comes down to the farm, having sensed something was wrong. He talks to Tom’s mom about what happened. Tom is given the choice of either imprisoning Alice or bringing her safely to her aunt. Tom’s mother tells him that there’s a darkness growing and Tom needs to stand against it. Alice could end up being his greatest ally or nothing more than a threat. Tom struggles with the decision. When he realizes that Alice had been used all her life by Lizzie, he decides to spare her. Tom brings her to her aunt’s house, but Alice tells him that they will meet again, something that Tom doesn’t doubt.
