Chapter Seven

Tom spends the rest of the month learning about boggarts from Gregory. He also learns about using materials like salt and iron to bind boggarts. At the end of the month Gregory gives Tom the choice of going back home. Tom eagerly accepts, which seems to hurt Gregory. He tells Tom he could make a good apprentice, but he only has a week to decide. Tom goes home, but he is dismayed to see that his family isn’t as happy to see him as he hoped. His mother makes the decision for him. The decision is that he needs to go back to Gregory and protect the land. Tom returns, but Gregory has left to hunt down a witch.
