Summary
In Chapter 34, “Carrick,” the three men join Evie and Kevan at Dundrennan. Owen realizes that he has supporters who will help him finish the task of removing Severn from the throne. Owen learns that Sinia is bringing her army against Severn and Owen's forces are also ready to fight against Severn. Owen asks for a boy named Carrick who works in the castle. He is the boy Stiev Horwath said would lead Owen to the magical sword of King Andrew. Carrick leads them to the place. With his magic ring, Owen recovers the sword, which is frozen in ice. The sword is named Firebos. The chapter ends with a letter from Severn, declaring that he is ready to surrender.
