Summary
The next chapter is titled “The Castle on the Hill.” Woferl seems surprised when Nannerl tells him about her story. Nannerl notes a wound on Woferl's thumb where he bit it in his sleep. When they are alone at practice later that morning, Woferl says Nannerl should compose more. Nannerl has heard Leopold say she makes a good companion for Woferl and that it would be amazing if she played a piece Woferl composed, but she knows no one would approve of her composing for herself. She imagines Leopold throwing her compositions in the fire, which horrifies her. Woferl says “Music is music” (107) regardless of the source.
