Summary
The next chapter is titled “The Secret Page.” They take a small room at an inn in Vienna and Leopold arranges for a clavier in the room for the children to practice. Woferl begins to practice and write down his concerto the moment the clavier arrives. When Nannerl takes a turn, she changes from her practice music to the music written in stones in the forest without realizing it. She knows that females are not allowed to compose music and that Leopold would disapprove, but her eyes are repeatedly drawn to a nearby quill. She wonders if Hyacinth has planted this desire in her.
