Summary
Chapter 15
Mark reflects on the friendship he and Alex have, having saved one another’s lives on multiple occasions. Alec, leading the way with a map and a compass, brings the group along. During an afternoon break, Mark and Trina slip off to use the bathroom, but end up kissing. They hold hands as they head back to the others, and then separate. During the night, Trina cuddles with Mark, who looks up at the stars and remembers how his mother taught him about the constellations when he was younger. He in turn told his younger sister, Madison. Suddenly, Mark hears a twig snap, and then looks up to see Toad near camp. Mark asks Toad if he is alright, but the Toad tells him that things are living inside his head.
