Chapter 18 Summary
Bill takes Teri and Lucas far north, to a secluded cabin that his family owns. His father used to take him there when he was a kid. They used to stay for weeks, and his father used to lead a very simple life there of hunting for food and chopping wood. This really upset his grandfather, who was very much into industrialism and consumption. It always amazed Bill how his father and grandfather could be two such different men.
Bill and Teri and Lucas stay in the cabin for about five days before they hear on the news that it was discovered that they all didn't burn in the fire. Bill knows it's only a matter of time before they are found in the cabin. They leave on a long drive again, deciding to start their lives over somewhere far away. As they...
