Summary
In Chapter 11, Laura arrives at the house and believes that Anthony is out for his walk. She looks out in the garden and finds Anthony dead on the grass covered with rose petals. After the doctor and funeral director leaves the house, Laura begins to wonder about Anthony’s next-of-kin. She walks around the house and decides to go in the study.
Chapter 12 finds Laura in the study, looking over the countless items Anthony kept in shelves and drawers. Laura knows that they are important, but does not yet understand why or how. Laura looks at a piece of writing accompanying a green hair bobble. She reads through the story about a little girl named Daisy losing it on a day when she climbed a tree that she was scared to climb. Laura puts the hair bobble back.
