Summary
In Chapter 32, Jeri saw an article about Schnetzer’s strangulation death in a Pensacola newspaper. She sent articles detailing the murders of Cleveland, Leawood, and Verno to the reporter who wrote. The next day there was an article in the paper about the possibility of a connection between the four victims. The police refused to comment. Jeri sent a link to Lacy. Lacy smiled at Jeri’s intelligence and tenaciousness, but believed the story would prompt a response from Bannick.
Lacy called Jeri and warned her that the BJC had finished its investigation and was sending the case to the FBI. Lacy told Jeri she would be protected to the extent possible.
