Jenny Humphrey
Jenny Humphrey is the main character and principle protagonist of the novel "The It Girl" by Cecily Von Ziegesar. She is a sophomore who is attending Waverly Acadamy in Rhinecliff, New York, having formerly attended Constance Billard in the city. Jenny is short, thin, and well-proportioned, which catches the attention of many males at the new school. She is also immensely talented as an artist and a field hockey player.
She has decided to attend Waverly following a series of rumors about her sleeping with her brother, and all of the members of her brother's old band. Jenny hopes that her time at Waverly will enable her to begin a new life. Indeed, much of the novel concerns Jenny's considerations about her courses of action, based upon whether those decisions would be something "New Jenny" or "Old Jenny" would do.
