Summary
In Chapter 37, Hannah remembered how Hugh had kept people away from April’s body and out of the room until the police arrived. Hannah and Hugh had to stay in town, even after the college closed for summer because they were witnesses. Ryan, Emily, and Will were questioned, but never considered suspects.
In Chapter 38, set in the present, Geraint emails Hannah asking if she will meet with him and a woman named November Rain who has information about April’s autopsy. Geraint arranges a meeting for 11:30 a.m. at the Great Caledonia, the hotel in which November is staying. When Hannah first sees November, she believes she is seeing April come back to life.
In Chapter 39, when November speaks, Hannah realizes it is not April’s voice. Geraint apologizes because he never clarified that November was April’s sister.
