Summary
In Chapter 42, it is New Year’s Day. Meryem prepares to leave London. Ada asks if she can interview her. She wants to know why her parents never talk about Cyprus.
Defne resumes her work for the Committee for Missing Persons in Chapter 43. Ada is nine months old. She visits different families from Cyprus in London. One night, she goes out for a drink with her colleague. When she returns home, she makes Kostas promise to never tell Ada anything about Cyprus.
Meryem gives Ada cooking and cleaning tips in Chapter 44. She has one day left in London. When Ada mentions her male friend, Meryem reminds her that boys her age only think about sex. When Ada challenges this, Meryem gets defensive.
