Summary

Joe “Crazy Joe” Gallo, a member of the Profaci family, began to create a bad reputation for himself when he coordinated a group that kidnapped the head of the Profaci family for a larger share of the family’s profit. The plan failed. Gallo was later sent to jail when he attempted to extort a business owner for money. The business owner reported the attempt to the police. Gallo was sent to jail.

Meanwhile, Joseph Columbo came to rule the Profaci family, which was renamed the Columbo family. With Gallo in jail, Gallo’s crew came to a peace agreement with Columbo. When Gallo was released from prison, Columbo offered him one thousand dollars as a homecoming gift and peace offering. Gallo demanded one hundred thousand dollars.
