Laura has a plan when she comes to New York City. She wants to make it big, fall in love, and then raise a family in a suburb within commuting distance. However, this is not what happens at all. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Maurice. Through her interaction with him, she realizes that her inability to make and form close romantic attachments come from her own lack of interaction with her father, Nunzie.
