Summary
In Chapter 1, Rosalind interrupted Sigsby’s thoughts, telling her that Fred Clark, a janitor, wanted to see her. He would not say what it was about.
In Chapter 2, Clark took Sigsby to an empty room where Maureen had hung herself in the shower. Sigsby reached for her radio and was immediately angry with herself because she had forgotten to bring it, a sign of carelessness. After Sigsby sent Clark to get her radio, she read the message Maureen had written in lipstick on the wall: “HELL IS WAITING. I’LL BE HERE TO MEET YOU” (288).
