Summary
In Chapter 1, three weeks had passed since Kalisha was moved to the Back Half. During that period of time, Luke felt like his IQ was declining. His grief made him feel as if he were asleep but he still noticed weaknesses in the Institute security. It seemed to be in a glide, like a rocket that has switched its engines off. Luke listened and stored away information, like the fact the black glass obscuring the cameras in the hallways was dirty.
Because Luke had adopted the cover of being a good boy, he was often left alone while in the treatment rooms on C-Level. Luke took this time to explore C-Level. During one of his exploits, he found a discarded elevator card that was still active.
