Summary
In Chapter 4, three months after Debbie Carter’s murder, detectives interviewed Ron Williamson. Ron truthfully said that he had not been at the Coachlight on the night of Debbie’s death and was not acquainted with Debbie. Police also began to investigate a local man named Dennis Fritz, “whose only possible link to the murder investigation was his friendship with Ron Williamson” (62). The investigators were operating on the generally unfounded assumption that there were two killers. They based this assumption only on the vague piece of evidence that Debbie apartment had been in such disarray. Dennis Fritz was a widowed man with a daughter.
