Chapter 48 Summary
Biju's flight arrived in the Calcutta airport. There is an unruly crowd, searching for their baggage and tired from the long exhausting flight. Biju saw many different people, the different types of Indians that existed. There were the computer boys, toilet cleaners, businessmen and hip-hop style Indians. Some had brought their blond, American girlfriends and were trying to remain unnoticed, though this was near impossible. Indian girls made faces at the blonds; Indian men told them they were more beautiful than the blond, though they were secretly jealous for not having a blond themselves. Many bags got lost in transit, they failed to make the flight change in France, and only those people who were non-residents were compensated for their losses and for hotel stays.
