Summary
Scene Three begins with Toby’s arrival at the country house. Conversation with Eric reveals that Eric has read the new play and thinks that it is a mess. When Toby reacts with anger, Eric suggests that Toby has more important things to worry about, and Toby agrees. As Toby comes into the house, noting all of Eric’s possessions and how good everything looks, Eric warns Leo that Toby is there. When Leo encounters Toby, Toby thinks he is Adam. Leo attacks him, and they both end up bleeding. Eric comforts Leo.
Toby suggests he should go, but Eric encourages him to stay, to spend some time reconnecting with the best part of himself, and to talk with Leo, telling him the truth. Toby says he does not know what that is. Eric says that...
