Summary

Scene Four begins with narration from the Chorus of Young Men of how much Leo reads when he is on Fire Island, particularly Maurice. There are also descriptions of how much he and Toby get into the partying / drugs / sex scene there. They spend more and more time having sex with each other, to the point that their physical lives approach “what Leo suspected might be called lovemaking” (213). But then Toby gives into the temptation offered by his drug dealer, and in spite of Leo’s reluctance, takes Leo to a party where he is handled and used sexually in ways that, as they are described, sound similar to ways that Adam was used in Prague.
