Summary
Part Two begins where Part One ended – with Eric alone in the house, awestruck at what he encountered there. Peter and the other ghosts are gone. Henry comes in, speaking of how much damage the outgoing tenants have done. Eric asks whether the house might be haunted, given everything that happened there. Henry firmly says that it cannot be haunted, eventually leading their conversation to his asking Eric to marry him. Henry says they have spent a lot of time together, and that he wants the spirit that Eric brings to his life with him permanently. Eric asks to think about it, and Henry agrees. A thunderstorm starts to gather as Henry urges Eric to leave. Eric goes out, but Henry lingers as he recalls when he and Walter first saw the house, a memory enacted by two...
