Summary
As Scene One of Act Three begins, there is another rainstorm. Toby arrives at Adam’s apartment, having just broken up with Eric and desperate for a drink. As Toby explains what happened, Morgan interjects when Toby conceals the intensity of his feelings for Adam, even as Adam reveals that he has been offered the chance to perform in Toby’s play on Broadway, and Toby reveals that there had been some conversation about Adam not doing the part. The conversation remains relatively civil until Adam tells him that he has been having a relationship with the director of Adam’s play, Tom.
