Summary
As Act Two begins, the action moves back and forth between a nightclub in Chicago (where Toby is partying with Adam) and the apartment in New York (where Eric is on his own). Their telephone conversation reveals that Eric is about to turn 34, and that he plans to celebrate by having their friends over to meet Walter. Toby wonders whether he should be jealous of how much time Eric and Walter are spending together, and Eric reassures him. Toby then hangs up, and hurries back into the crowd.
The action then shifts to Adam’s apartment, where Toby has walked Adam home. Toby is still high on drugs, and reacts with sarcasm as Adam says that he loves him. Adam then takes a shower, and when he is sure that he cannot hear, Toby speaks positively of...
