Hawthorne House

Hawthorne House is the main setting for this novel. The house is located in Texas. Avery and Libby travel to this house for the first time for the reading of the will. They return the day after the will is read to begin Avery’s required one-year stay in the house. Avery fears that she will be killed while living in Hawthorne House with the rest of the Hawthorne family.

Avery is shot at by Drake while on this estate, an attack on her life arranged by Skye. The majority of the final game that Tobias arranged for his grandsons is also played on the grounds of the estate. For instance, two of the grandsons’ middle names correspond to places on the estate: Blackwood and Eastbrook.
