Summary

In Chapter 69, Libby had already been taken for questioning when Alisa and Oren arrived back at the house with Avery. Nash accused Alisa of not doing more to protect Libby. Alisa argued Libby was likely an accessory to murder. Because Avery knew her sister would not do anything to hurt her she insisted that Alisa send a lawyer to represent Libby. Avery told everyone, even Oren, to leave her alone because she felt she was being manipulated, like a chess piece.

In Chapter 70, Avery agreed to meet with Landon, the media consultant, only because it was the only way Alisa would leave her alone. She tried to assure herself that Libby would not have let anyone hurt her, but at the same time, she could not help but remember that Libby had not blocked Drake’s number.
