Summary
In Chapter 25, Xander met Avery in the hallway. He inferred that Thea had upset her and directed her away from the cafeteria. As they walked, he told her that because he was the youngest, he was never as competitive as his older brothers. He tended to spend time talking to his grandfather and learned during one of those conversations that his grandfather was not given a middle name when he was born. Avery remembered, however, that Tobias had included a middle name on Jameson’s letter. He also put three initials on her letter. She had the feeling she was missing something.
In Chapter 26, Xander left Avery at the library. He said Thea would not bother her there. The only other person in the room was a girl with dark red hair.
