Summary
In Chapter 12, Grayson came to Avery’s hotel room. He told her he did not know how she had gotten Tobias to leave her his money, but that he would find out and he would protect his family. Avery pushed Grayson out of the room and closed the door before Oren had a chance to act.
When she finally read the letter Tobias had left to her, it stated only “Dearest Avery, / I’m sorry. / —T. T. H.” (51).
In Chapter 13, Oren and Alisa warned Avery the next morning that she would be a target for paparazzi, kidnappers, and stalkers. Oren noted that some people would believe Avery was Cinderella while some would think she was Marie Antionette.
