Summary
In Chapter 26, Billy’s mother sells their computer to help pay for some of the damage to Zelinsky’s store. At school, Billy has lunch with Alf and Clark, who are not angry about Billy activating the store alarm. They try to figure out why Zelinsky chose not to press charges, but they are unable to arrive at a satisfactory answer. Alf says that his grandmother bought him a copy of Playboy so that he could make copies of the pictures to pacify those who had hit him. Alf also says that Tyler decided to leave Wetbridge and join the U.S. Army. In Billy’s locker, he finds another disk from Mary. This one simply contains a block of text explaining that she never wants to see him again. In Chapter 27, Billy writes out a letter of apology and explanation to Mary, but...
