Summary
In Chapter Thirty-seven, Tess feels an ache as she sits watching the Easter parade. She is afraid she might be getting a bladder infection. However, she thinks that it is worth the feeling of vengeance that her affair with Connor has given her. Her mother asks Tess how the evening went. Tess answers it was fine; but, her distraction lets Lucy know that she and Connor had sex. Lucy praises her daughter.
In Chapter Thirty-eight, Samantha chats with Rachel about Connor's good mood. She wonders if he has gotten himself a woman. Rachel is disturbed because the next day is the anniversary of Janie’s death. She believes that while Janie is dead because of Connor, he is instead on top of the world and falling in love, emotions Janie can’t feel because of him.
