Summary

Jumping to Cologne, Germany, the focus shifts to Englishman Ian Graham, a former war correspondent and journalist who is currently working as an investigator tracking down former Nazis who need to be prosecuted for war crimes. Ian and his partner Tony, a charismatic young American man, have just caught another Nazi, and while Tony encourages him to "get a drink and a good night's sleep," Ian is already trying to figure out his next move (24). The two have made three arrests in a year, which has gained them an impressive reputation. Ian is obsessed with hunting down a woman called die jagerin, or the huntress, an infamous criminal who killed multiple innocent civilians in Poland. The pair make their way to the Vienna Refugee Documentation Center in an attempt to gather more information, and Tony finds some information that is their first lead...
