Loch Corrin

Loch Corrin is large estate that is the main setting of the novel. When the girls are traveling to the lodge from the train station with Doug, they discover for the first time just how remote the area is. Doug says it is possible for them to become snowed in, sometimes for a couple of weeks. While the group knew this on an academic level, being in the remote area and really understanding that it could happen is shocking. There are several specific settings within the lodge and the surrounding grounds that are important to the action of the novel. The estate is some 50,00 acres and includes a main lodge and several cottages for guests.
