Summary

Chapter 43 is titled “Heather” and returns to “Now, January 2, 2019.” DCI Querry calls. She has to work on another case and Heather assumes it is the Highland Ripper. She does an online search while DCI Querry explains that DCI John MacBride will be taking over the investigation into the death at the lodge. When Heather finds an online story that police have arrested the Highland Ripper, she knows that means there is a killer among the people at the lodge.

Chapter 44 is titled “Katie” and reverts to the previous day. Julien returns to the sauna and Katie questions the situation more forcefully than she has in the past.
