Summary

In Chapter 1, Hazel Levesque, Nico di Angelo, and Leo Valdez are on the deck of the Argo II. The ship is being attacked by numina montana, Roman mountain gods, who are trying to keep them from continuing on their journey. The gods pummel the ship with large boulders. Leo finally flies the ship out of the mountains and the range of the gods. The rest of their companions are asleep below deck. They are trying to reach Epirus in Greece and find an old temple called the House of Hades where they will find the Doors of Death, but are continually attacked by Roman monsters trying to stop them. They are in a hurry to reach the House of Hades where they are to meet their friends Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson who have fallen into Tartarus. They, too, are trying...
