Summary
In Chapter 16, Investcorp now owns Gucci. Maurizio moves out of his elegant offices. Bill Flanz, the person who takes Maurizio’s place tries, but fails, to maintain their friendship. He does all he came to help move the company forward. Still people at the company, including De Sole, are depressed. De Sole thought that he would have taken Maurizio’s place. When he expresses his displeasure, he is advised to be patient. People will recognize his value. He does so and takes the job that is offered to him.
Many say that Maurizio was fighting a losing battle and that it would have been hard for anyone in his situation. He did not have resources and refused to let others help him because of his relationship with his father. He was charming, but that trait was not enough to make his ideas come...
