Chapters 10-12 Summary

In chapter 10, the Small family attends church. The congregation appears the same as any other church to Thomas, but this impression changes when Mr. Pluto arrives. Thomas notices that the church goers seem somewhat afraid of Mr. Pluto and that the preacher delays the service for the old man. Afterward, the preacher greets them warmly, but no one else in the congregation seems as friendly as Thomas thought they would be.

In chapter 11, Mr. Small takes the family to the university where he will be teaching so that they might have dinner in the university cafeteria. The family takes a short tour of the campus and Thomas gets to see his father's office high in a tower. In the office, Thomas and Mr. Small find another triangle like the three in their house.
