Summary

In "Affirmations," Xavier awards the second weekly prize to Alessandra. Mr. Yamaguchi left her a glowing review. Lizbet summons Edie to her office to tell her she is leaving 15 minutes early for her date with Mario. When Lizbet tells Edie she is doing great at work, Edie tears up. Edie tells Lizbet she is applying for an additional job as she is short on cash.

Lizbet repeats positive affirmations to herself as she gets ready for her date with Mario. When he sees her, he whistles and says, "You look... wow. Just wow" (264). Christina is clearly startled to see Lizbet and Mario at the Deck. Christina seats them and explains the premise of the rosé fountain which Lizbet created.
