Summary

In “Staff Secrets,” Grace watches Kimber eat ravenously, wink at her reflection, and sort through piles of cash. Edie learns that Louie lost his chess set, so she sends Zeke to give him a free one from the hotel.

Afraid that Kimber might be a con woman, Lizbet visits her. Kimber agrees to pay in advance in each week, somewhat soothing Lizbet’s fears. Kimber hugs her, as do Wanda and Louie.

Lizbet calls a meeting in the staff room, which is decorated to resemble a 1950s diner. She reminds them to keep information about guests confidential. Privately, she tried to look Kimber up but found nothing relevant. When Adam sings a little tune, Lizbet jokes, “Does anyone else have hidden talents… Or perhaps a secret to share in this safe space?” (87). The staff tenses up.
