Summary

In Chapter 23, Annie hosted a dinner party for the Bookers to thank them for their hospitality. The evening fell apart when one of Joe’s younger twin brothers told that he had seen Grace riding Joe’s horse. Before Tom left, he advised Annie to talk to Grace and not let Grace turn Annie away.

At the ranch house, Tom looked at the open blinds in Annie’s bedroom and thought about how much he wanted her. It had been the first time he had seen her in a dress, black with pink flowers, and he had been unable to take his eyes off her.
