Jerry goes to a lush apartment building and waits outside a specific apartment for the occupant to exit. When she does, Jerry pretends to be an old friend, calling her Elizabeth Worthington and claiming to be someone she sold several kegs of whiskey to a few years before. Elizabeth was involved in a scam, selling the whiskey to as many men as she could convince, so she assumes Jerry is a customer she simply cannot recall. A rapport develops between them, and Jerry convinces Elizabeth to go to dinner with him. Before dinner, they make the rounds of a few popular night clubs. Jerry finds Elizabeth fascinating, if a little slow, and begins to wonder where she got a couple of scars visible...
