Craw goes to visit Phoebe Wayfarer, a half-Chinese, half-British journalist. Phoebe works as a gossip reporter, but she is also a spy working with Craw as her handler. Phoebe is paranoid of being discovered as a spy, so Craw spends the first few minutes with her convincing her that she is safe. In reality, Phoebe's usefulness is nearly gone, but he does not want to let her know that because he knows how important spying is to her.
