Summary

Part Three is titled The Queen's Secrets. In Chapter 16, Cricket meets up with the others at a stall that sells books. She keeps touching books as a means of grounding herself “just to feel something safe and beloved” (147). Cricket wants to spread the truth. Blue knows it will be difficult for some dragons to accept this information. Cricket and the others make copies of Clearsight's letter. Cricket insists on distributing them alone, saying it is her responsibility to save her tribe. Sundew says they should not risk more than one dragon being caught so the others can “maybe” mount a rescue. Swordtail and Blue set out to search for Luna.

When the others leave, Cricket forces herself not to call them back. She sets out to distribute the letters, and she writes messages over “every poster, every open surface, every blank unguarded wall...
