Chapter 20: A Good Book
For some reason, Lucky had always worried about a bug crawling in her ear. She would purposely wear a clump of hair over her ear to guard against an unwanted pest crawling down into her ear. The bug is moving around in her ear—it is the worst pain she has ever felt. She has some mineral oil in her bag which she pours into her ear to drown the bug.
Miles runs off, telling her he'll go for help. She tries to lure him back by offering him a Fig Newton. He hesitates but thinks he should go get help. She convinces Miles to get his book out of her bag and read it to her. The tiny moth that was in Lucky's ear finally slides out and Lucky feels better. Miles asks why his...
