Chapters 10 and 11 Summary
Chapter 10: The Urn
Lucky and Lincoln meet early the next morning at the Post Office. She wants to talk to him about an urn she has. Urns are used to hold the ashes of dead people who are cremated. Until her mother died, she didn't know that some people weren't buried. Short Sammy had explained the cremation process to her. Several days after Brigitte arrived, a strange man comes to the house and gives Lucky the urn. She thinks that it is a mistake and tries to give it back but he insists that she keep it. He tells her that the urn holds the remains of her mother and that as next of kin, she can toss them out into the air at the memorial service. She doesn't know what he is talking about.
