Summary
In Chapter 28, Glory notes that Scarlet's face – which she had sprayed with venom weeks earlier – seems unharmed. The image “flickered” and Glory sees “a horrible smeared mess where a face used to be” (197). Glory realizes she is seeing a vision and Scarlet says she can only contact Glory when she is sleeping. She reveals a sapphire which is a “dreamvisitor,” enchanted by an animus dragon so he and his friends could visit the others' dreams. Scarlet lashes out. Glory can feel it, but it does not hurt and she closes her eyes. Scarlet says Glory should rescue her. She says she will hunt Glory down if she has to escape on her own. Glory believes Scarlet will try to kill her no matter what. Scarlet does not answer any more questions, and disappears. Glory is shaking but Kinkajou nestles closer and Glory settles...
