Part 2: Chapters 21-23 Summary

In chapter 2=twenty-one, Aerin begins traveling back the way she came with her army. On the road they find Luthe waiting for them. Luthe explains that Aerin was battling Agsded for centuries, as well as her climb up the stairs and her fall in the rubble. Luthe came to help bring her back to her own time. Aerin shows Luthe the bloodstone when she tells the story of how she survived. Luthe tells her it was formed from the last drop of blood from the dying Maur and that it has many powers. Aerin insists that Luthe take the stone to prevent anyone from using its power for evil.

Luthe travels with Aerin and her army as they make their way back toward the south. As they travel, Aerin and Luthe become lovers. When the time comes for them...
