Part 2: Chapters 14-17 Summary
In chapter fourteen, Aerin and Talat are several days into their journey when they come upon Tor and Arlbeth among a procession searching for her. The men escort Aerin back home, where she is given a hero's welcome. The head of Maur has been brought to the city and placed on display within the castle. Many healers come to care for Aerin, but none seem able to better cure the heat of her burns than her own use of kenet and none seem able to do anything about the searing pain in her throat and lungs. Eventually Aerin feels well enough to join her father and Tor for a meal in the main hall.
