Part 1: Chapters 6-8 Summary
In chapter six, Talat grows strong, returning to his prior attitude of courage and confidence with Aerin's attention. In fact, Talat has grown so strong that one day he jumps over a fence. During this time, Aerin modifies Talat's saddle to allow her to use her legs to lead the horse rather than relying on the reins she has decided to discard.
Aerin is forced to take part in Galanna's wedding, despite her hope that her illness would keep her away. Aerin is dressed beautifully that day and everyone in attendance notices the way Tor looks at her, convinced he is in love with the sol. Aerin does not notice, however. During this time, Aerin begins work attempting to make kenet, surprising Teka with her sudden fascination with herbs. After Aerin's initial failures, she begins to keep careful notes...
