The Palace
The palace is the setting where the Selection takes place. It is also the place where readers can see how hard it is to make people embrace the end of the caste system as the caste system still exists there and the heir to the throne, Eadlyn, does not fully embrace its elimination, as shown by the fact that she does not realize that Neena has options in life other than being her maid.
