Summary
Dr. Révol's call reaches Thomas Rémige's cell phone while he is at home, singing karaoke. Thomas left his family farm at age 20 to attend nursing school in Rouen and became enchanted with singing, an obsession that eventually drove him to buy an Algerian goldfinch. Like Dr. Révol, he enjoys working in the ICU. He is now the coordinating nurse in charge of organ transplantation at the hospital in Le Havre. After being told by Dr. Révol that Simon Limbres is now in a state of brain death, Thomas mounts his motorcycle and drives to the hospital. Once there, Révol phones the Biomedical Agency in Saint-Denis.
Marianne drives from the hospital to a cafe, still in shock, and orders a gin. She tries to keep memories of Simon out of her mind. Finally, Sean calls, and she bursts into...
